History

Sunderland’s origins lie in the void — shaped by the Sun God Sar and Sea Goddess Sarg. From their union came the Elves, Dragons, Kenis, and Humans — their destinies forever changed after the legendary Battle of the Void.

The First Age saw the rise and fall of fledgling kingdoms: the Northern Collapse, the Eastern and Western Wars, and the fading of the pure Elves. Guilds emerged, magic spread, and fractured powers shaped a world in unrest.

Out of this chaos rose the Southern Empire. Unified by the Yagway Dynasty, it ushered in order, law, and stability — marking the Second Age: an age of rebuilding, wandering heroes, and slow peace.

The Meaning of Sunderland

According to ancient lore, Sunderland means “The One Where Fall.” It was named by Sar after casting a void demon to the land below. He then reshaped the broken terrain into a single continent and named it Sunderland — from sunder, meaning “fall” in the common tongue.
